North Bay CNA Training Program

Quick Program Overview:

Program Format and Structure

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program at North Bay CNA Training Program in Rohnert Park, CA is a state-approved, hands-on course designed to launch students into meaningful healthcare careers. Whether students are new to healthcare or seeking to re-certify after years away from the field, North Bay CNA offers a robust and supportive learning environment led by highly experienced nurse instructors.

Students can choose between two formats depending on their schedule:

  • A 5-week full-time course held Monday through Friday, perfect for those who want to complete training quickly.
  • A 12-week part-time course held on weekends, ideal for working professionals or students balancing other commitments.

Both formats include 160 hours of total instruction, covering 60 hours of classroom theory and 100 hours of clinical training. The program is structured to provide a clear path from foundational knowledge through to real-world practice in clinical environments.

Curriculum and Hands-On Experience

North Bay CNA’s program is grounded in real-world application. The coursework includes classroom lectures, interactive labs, and clinical rotations that cover all 18 of California’s required CNA skills. From infection control and vital signs to feeding, bathing, and documentation, the curriculum is focused on preparing students to provide safe and effective care in long-term care facilities, hospitals, and home health environments.

Students also benefit from mock testing, skills checklists, and in-class practice exams, helping them feel confident when it comes time for the state exam. Because the school is a regional test site, students don’t need to travel elsewhere for certification testing—one more reason for the school’s high 95% pass rate.

Instructors and Leadership

The program is led by a team of Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs) and overseen by Roxanne Moon, MSN, RN, the school’s founder and director. Roxanne brings over 25 years of experience in the healthcare field and holds dual master’s degrees in nursing education and family nurse practice. Her work ranges from forensic nursing to case management and pediatric care, providing students with leadership that’s both deeply knowledgeable and incredibly student-focused.

North Bay CNA’s instructors are known for their compassion and thorough guidance. As reflected in student testimonials, the faculty consistently go above and beyond to support learners through challenges, language barriers, or career changes, fostering a strong sense of community and motivation in every cohort.

Admissions Requirements and Enrollment Process

To enroll, applicants must meet the following basic requirements:

  • Be at least 16 years old
  • Have a valid state ID and a Social Security card
  • Obtain a physical exam and TB (PPD) test within 90 days before clinical rotations
  • Complete a Live Scan fingerprinting background check, done onsite during orientation (at no cost to the student)

To secure a seat, students must submit a $300 non-refundable deposit, which is deducted from the $1,750 total tuition. The balance of $1,450 is due on orientation day unless other payment arrangements are made in advance. Refunds on tuition (excluding the deposit) are available only if written notice is provided at least seven days before the program starts.

What’s Included in Tuition

North Bay CNA provides a comprehensive, all-inclusive tuition package that covers:

  • Live Scan fingerprinting
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) class
  • State exam and testing fees
  • Study materials, including textbooks and lab supplies
  • Use of skills lab and clinical site supervision

This bundled pricing makes the program more predictable and eliminates surprise costs for students planning their training budget.

Career Preparation and Support

North Bay CNA is not just about passing exams—it’s about preparing students for real success in the workplace. Graduates are equipped to begin work immediately in skilled nursing facilities, home health agencies, and hospitals. The school offers guidance throughout the career journey and supports students during and after training.

Many students have praised the school for its supportiveness, flexibility, and high standards. Reviews frequently note how instructors build student confidence and encourage professional growth—especially important for first-time healthcare workers or those returning to school after a long break.
