The CNA/Home Health Aide program is split into two key components. First, students complete 60 hours of lecture and 100 hours of clinical training focused on core CNA competencies such as taking vital signs, hygiene and grooming, patient transfer, and basic environmental safety. This is followed by an additional 20 hours of lecture and 20 hours of clinical experience specific to home health aide duties, including nutrition, food safety, and in-home patient care.

EVC offers a cost-effective option compared to many private CNA programs. Tuition is $46 per unit for California residents, totaling $322 for the 7-unit NURS109 course. Additional fees bring the total estimated program cost to approximately $891. These fees include a health fee, parking, uniforms, state certification testing, textbooks, and necessary medical clearances. Non-resident tuition is higher at $249 per unit.

Although there is no formal financial aid tied directly to this program, EVC students may be eligible for general grant support or fee waivers through the college. Some costs such as uniforms or testing supplies may also be partially covered when grant funds are available.
